Prime Minister Hun Manet Calls for Participation in Preserving Cambodian Culture and Traditions

Pursat, March 31, 2024: In an effort to preserve Cambodia's rich cultural heritage, Prime Minister Hun Manet has urged authorities across the nation to organize traditional games, orchestras, dances, and Khmer traditional songs during of the Khmer New Year celebrations.

Addressing attendees at the Inauguration Ceremony of the Botum Stupa in Moniratanarama Pagoda, Pursat City, Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the importance of fostering a collective appreciation for Cambodia's cultural traditions. He called upon Cambodians of all ages to actively engage in popular games, dances, and traditional songs, with a special emphasis on involving the youth.

"This is a joint expression of love for our national cultural heritage," Prime Minister Hun Manet remarked.

While encouraging participation in traditional festivities, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of respecting the rights and dignity of all individuals, particularly young women. He urged attendees to enjoy the celebrations responsibly and to refrain from behaviors that may compromise the well-being of others.

Furthermore, Prime Minister advocated for celebrating happiness without the consumption of alcohol, promoting a joyful and inclusive atmosphere for all participants.
